Horse Evaluation

What does the competition look like?

• Horse Evaluation is a CDE competition at the state level in which students evaluate and place horses based on conformation, breed characteristics, and performance.

• The Horse Evaluation Competition consists of 2 parts:

  • • Evaluating Classes (watching horses perform and placing them)

    • Oral Reasons (explaining your placings to a judge)

• Each team consists of 4 competing members and possibly one alternate

  • • The alternate will go to the competition and participate in evaluating classes but will not participate in oral reasons 

    • Before the competition we will have a test to evaluate our members and decide who will be competing in the competition

When/Where is our competition?

• The Horse Evaluation is held at Middle Tennessee State University in the Miller Colesium

• The competiton date for 2025 is still undecided but in previous years is has happend in early november.

What do our meetings look like?

• Currently, our meetings are on Tuesday mornings at 7:40am in Mrs.Watson's room.
